Location: Manhattan, New York City
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET
Pay: 2-7 years of experience: $49.00/hour during contract period
7+ years of experience: $52.00/hour during contract period
About the Role:
Our client, a prestigious government agency in New York City, is seeking Litigation Contract Attorneys to join their Defense Unit. This specialized unit is dedicated to police action cases primarily in state court.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation: Handle a high volume of cases, taking depositions, participating in and negotiating discovery, and defending police action cases.
Document Review: Conduct document exchange, review, redaction, and privilege assessments, ensuring confidentiality, especially when dealing with sensitive police documents.
Case Management: Manage cases from inception through trial, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure a thorough defense strategy.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of litigation experience (civil or criminal). A background in civil litigation and familiarity with police documentation is highly preferred.
Skills: Strong document review and redaction skills, with the ability to handle privileged information discreetly and effectively.
