The Asylum Application Help Centers will help thousands of asylum seekers currently in New York City apply for asylum, bringing them one step closer to work authorization. Interested asylum seekers will schedule a one-on-one appointment at the application help center, where trained application assistants will work with the applicant to answer questions. Experienced immigration lawyers will be on site to supervise application assistants and provide guidance and interpreters will be on site to provide in person language assistance.

Schedule:
We are seeking highly motivated, empathy driven, temporary Asylum Application Assistants to work one-on-one with asylum seekers to assist them in understanding how to complete an asylum application by eliciting important information from them and guiding them through to completion. Each Asylum Application Assistant will be trained on how to assist, handle approximately 2-3 appointments per day and will be supervised and supported by an onsite Supervising Attorney.

Schedule:
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Supervising Attorneys with extensive immigration experience to staff application centers for asylum seekers. The role of the Supervising Attorney is to answer questions and provide support and training to application assistants and asylum seekers as they fill out applications. There will be multiple Supervising Attorneys on-site at the center each day. The Supervising Attorney will foster and encourage a positive, productive environment and will bring a ‘can-do’ attitude to the wide variety of questions that arise.
